About the Event
We’re excited to present renowned Syrian singer Gaida and her exceptional band on Funoon Stage performing ecstatic Syrian folk songs, timeless Arabic standards, and her own original compositions.
Gaida is known for her soulful, soaring vocals that deliver captivating performances and “stir up magic on stage” (The Detroit News). Her voice—described as “plaintive, gauzy, and emotionally compelling” (Chicago Tribune)—weaves the rich sounds of her Syrian heritage seamlessly with contemporary styles and masterful improvisation.
Gaida has graced prestigious stages such as Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and Lincoln Center. Her album, Levantine Indulgence, has been featured in Jonathan Demme’s film Rachel Getting Married.
Join us for a powerful live performance in celebration of Arab Heritage Month.
